Alex

sphoto, sphotohi, sphotohawaii, hawaii, oahu, model, photoshoot, photo shoot, photography, model photographyWhat up guys!

It feels I been MIA for a while on here…Damn!! lol. Well I’m back and been trying to get back up shooting more with new people. The best part of it is being able to make new friends! That’s one reason why I love what I do lol. Anyways, meet Alex! This Texas beauty is fun to be around…trust me the shoot was fun lol! She’s hella down to earth, easy to talk to, and is a NATURAL at modeling!!

In the beginning, I could see she was tense, then as we progressed through the shoot, she became more relaxed and opened up more.  Looking through the photos that night, I could see the stages of nervous to chill lol. She had mentioned to me the day before the shoot that she’s just starting up. For our first shoot, I didn’t wanna do too much guiding (I did end up guiding her through at some points lol) so that I could see how she does and if she’s just a natural at this. Then what do you know?! She surprised me and I knew she didn’t need much guidance haha.

Anyways, I’d would definitely love to work with Alex again in the future! Check out the rest of her photos from the shoot here and keep a look out for more model work from me in the future!

HARAJUKU & DIGITAL ART MUSEUM IN JAPAN!

What’s up everybody!

Been super busy with a lot of other stuff and been working on these Japan videos everyday, little by little, but I finally finished another one!

I put together our days from when we hit up Harajuku and when we went to visit the digital art museum.

Both places were pretty cool, like Harajuku for example, I liked that it felt very urban and every corner you turned, it was like a photographers heaven. There were so many little nooks and crannies you could shoot at, that I think you’d need the whole day and a month to shoot every single spot there. Literally, it was the perfect place to get as much content as you could handle. There’s also a lot of shopping you could get done, from WEGO (being one of my favorite stores to shop at ever since I first learned about it) to Daiso ( THE BEST DOLLAR STORE IN THE WORLD…well to me that is lol).

Although we only got to check out Harajuku for a limited time we made it well worth it with whatever time we had. Aside from that, we got to check out the digital art museum in Odaiba. Now that place was cool! Tricked my eyes and blew my mind the whole time we were there. I felt like a little kid again lol.

Such colorful displays and creative pieces all with the works of the digital age! My favorite one in that place would have to be the LED room with all the LED strips hanging all the way down from the ceiling. It displayed colorful dancing lights, to dimming the whole room pitch black and making the LED strips dance like it was raining. It’s just something you have to see with your own eyes!

There were some interactive rooms/displays as well but I can’t say those were better than my favorite one! It is definitely A MUST SEE place if it’s your first time in Tokyo, or just wanna go somewhere cool. And if you’re a social media junkie, you’ll be sure to leave with some bomb content/photos!

See you guys in the next video! Don’t forget to LIKE & SUBSCRIBE!

Day 2 of Japan! Fushimi Inari-taisha & Kinkaku-ji

What’s up guys! I finally got around to finishing day 2 of the stuff we did while in Japan. We went to explore Kyoto for a bit and went to check out Fushimi Inari-taisha and Kinkaku-ji temple. In a nutshell, Fushimi Inari-taisha is where you’ll find the torii, or the bright orange traditional gates all lined up leading up a mountain. Kinkaku-ji is where you’ll find the golden pavilion, one of the famous tourist attractions in Kyoto.

Unfortunately, it was a gloomy and rainy morning which limited me to some of the shooting that I did. I didn’t want my camera and gear to get wet and damaged so I shot whatever I could when I had the chance. Plus if you’re planning to go anywhere that’s a tourist attraction, I’d suggest going early in the morning to avoid all the crowds if you’re looking to take some photos or video because once peak time hits, the crowds will just keep pouring in!

I’m glad we got to learn and physically see some history of Japan tho. It’s definitely some places to check out if you’re visiting Japan for the first time or if you’re looking for places/things to do.

Beach Day!!!!

Had a beach day with the girlfriend and a few of the homies this past weekend.  Brought them back to the same beach @shaz_v and I did the last video together.  Last time the 2 of us went, we weren’t prepared because all I had in mind was to shoot a video at the time and boy did I regret it!  It was so hot that day that all I could think about was swimming, but all I brought were the clothes I was wearing and my camera.  This time we planned it out and brought a tent, drinks, food, and everything else anyone would bring to the beach to have a good time!  This took place on the North Shore of Oahu.  To be honest with you, I have no idea what the name of this beach is, but it isn’t as busy as most beaches here on the island and it stretched pretty far, so there literally was all the space in the world at this spot.  No more searching almost half the beach for a spot to kick it lol.  We stayed all the way til sunset, and I gotta say, this day was a good day.

Spontaneous Beach Day With The Girlfriend

sphoto, sphotohi, sphotohawaii, hawaii, oahu, north shore, beach, model, portrait, canon, canon 80d
For those who don’t already know, yes this is my gorgeous girlfriend, Shaz lol.  This was a spontaneous beach day, on a Sunday afternoon.  It was so hot that day and we were both off (we rarely get the same days off), so it was her idea to head to the beach and I figured might as well make use of the day and shoot a video and photos too to see where I’m stand ever since I jumped into the video side of things!  We went down to some beach  at the North Shore.  I don’t know the name of it but it was one of those beaches that was literally on the side of the highway (if you ever been down that side, and I know many locals have, but if you’re not from here, there are many beaches you can visit down at the north shore).  Before that we took a stroll through Haleiwa (a MUST SEE place if you’re ever visiting Oahu) to play tourist a bit and grab some food for the beach.  Let me tell you though, because this was a spontaneous trip, we were definitely NOT prepared! lol.  We arrived there around 430ish and the sun hadn’t gone down enough to where the beach is bearable, so we regretted not bringing enough drinks and a tent lol.  So we set up our beach blanket on the sand and just endured the sun and enjoyed our Sunday.  I have to admit though, it was relaxing minus the hot sun and sweating so much (because I didn’t bring swim shorts on the count that I wasn’t planning to swim but boy did I regret that), plus I shot whatever I could before I was over everything because of the heat lol.  Anyways, if you wanna see the rest of the photos and the video that was taken that day, click on the photo above!

I haven’t posted in a while too so here’s a collab I did with the homies @jcfilmshi & @__________j3sslow. Jess had asked me to shoot his car since he was about to make a move to vegas and I needed some people to model my new shirts. So I thought, why not kill 2 birds with 1 stone? My shooting focused more the brand side of the photos + video, while I hit up JC to actually focus on filming the car since that’s his bread and butter. Plus I needed JC to be in my video for a few parts to make sense. Check out the rest of the feature here or click on the photo above!

I Finally Stepped Into The Video World

Alright, so this took me a while to actually convince myself into taking up videos because, 1) I hate learning new things and 2) I hate that on top of learning something new, I’ll have to figure out a workflow from what I’m comfortable with already.  But on the other hand, I felt as if I was at a “block” with my photography and (of course there’s many many many more things for me to learn) felt at my “max” as of today.  Like I said, it took me a while to convince myself, but I thought about it and realized that I should take a break from photography (I’m not completely stopping.  I’ll just be focusing on learning everything I can with videos now.) and acquire a new skill that can benefit me in the future!  I know I said I hate learning, hate this, hate that, but I also LOVE learning new things if it’s beneficial.  I love that learning something new can open not only your mind, but also your doors of opportunity in the future.

This day me and the boo went to Lanikai beach to just relax and enjoy our day off together.  It was a windy and cold day at the beach tho so no swimming was involved and we just sat on the sand and people watched and I got to practice shooting.  Keeping this short, here’s my very first video and I hope you guys enjoy it as much as I enjoyed creating it.  Feel free to leave me comments and share this video if you please.

We’re Working On Shooting Together More Often

sphoto, sphotohi, sphotohawaii, hawaii, oahu, honolulu, sphoto.com, sphotohi.com, sphotohawaii.com, shazvee, model, photography, street photography, street fashion, model photography, fashion, asian

As the title state’s, my boo and I are working on shooting together more often because she’s getting more comfortable and getting used to posing for me in front of the camera.  Plus I recently upgraded from a Canon T1i, which I had since circa 2010, to a Canon 80D, so I was excited to finally use my new camera for a shoot.  For this shoot, it was a laid back/comfortable, regular type of outing kind of outfit.  Brand new air force 1’s on her feet, distressed denim, and a tied cropped top.  She loves putting outfits together and I thought she looked hella cute in this particular one lol so it basically was my request to shoot this one.  Definitely more shoots to come in the near future with her but in the mean time, check out the rest of her photos and just keep a look out for new posts!
