AMMDI which stands for Aloha Made Me Do It, is a women’s driven lifestyle brand inspired by living in paradise.
Who is the founder of AMMDI?
AMMDI was founded in late 2014 by two individuals. Kerah Tabisola (@keeeraah) and Jason Chang (@pipedreams_surfer). Jason majored in economics and graduated with his BA at University of Hawaii. He is the owner of Pipe Dreams Surf Co, located at Pearlridge shopping center. As for Kera, she is a 22 year old, aspiring fashion student, currently at Honolulu Community College and is also the women’s buyer of Pipe Dreams.
How did AMMDI start?
Kerah says, “It all happened pretty organically. One day after work, my coworker (Jason Chang) and I were smoking and I thought of an idea to makea shirt that says, ‘Aloha Made Me Do It’, and my coworker loved it! The very next day he calls me up and he’s like, “I registered the name!” So we pretty much just went for it from there. That was a little over 2 years ago and the amount of love and support we get is very humbling, especially on our islands because we all live by the aloha lifestyle.”

The reversible one piece swimsuits are AMMDI’s latest drop. They come in 4 different prints and two colorways for 2 styles. Their very first swimsuit blanks were made in China and although it looked top notch, AMMDI received complaints from a number of women about the sizing being off, so they set off to find the perfect fit. Through trial and error, literally 100 emails and calls later, they were able to find what they were looking for and manufactured domestically in the US. After the perfect fit was found, 20 different stretch combinations were put to the test by 3 different printers, until finally the best printed suits for your everyday island adventures was found. AMMDI’s suits are reversible; One side with graphics and the other side sold. Whether you are hiking to a secret waterfall, surfing your favorite break, or just hanging with friends, these suits will always look amazing and withstand all of your daily ventures!
