HARAJUKU & DIGITAL ART MUSEUM IN JAPAN!

What’s up everybody!

Been super busy with a lot of other stuff and been working on these Japan videos everyday, little by little, but I finally finished another one!

I put together our days from when we hit up Harajuku and when we went to visit the digital art museum.

Both places were pretty cool, like Harajuku for example, I liked that it felt very urban and every corner you turned, it was like a photographers heaven. There were so many little nooks and crannies you could shoot at, that I think you’d need the whole day and a month to shoot every single spot there. Literally, it was the perfect place to get as much content as you could handle. There’s also a lot of shopping you could get done, from WEGO (being one of my favorite stores to shop at ever since I first learned about it) to Daiso ( THE BEST DOLLAR STORE IN THE WORLD…well to me that is lol).

Although we only got to check out Harajuku for a limited time we made it well worth it with whatever time we had. Aside from that, we got to check out the digital art museum in Odaiba. Now that place was cool! Tricked my eyes and blew my mind the whole time we were there. I felt like a little kid again lol.

Such colorful displays and creative pieces all with the works of the digital age! My favorite one in that place would have to be the LED room with all the LED strips hanging all the way down from the ceiling. It displayed colorful dancing lights, to dimming the whole room pitch black and making the LED strips dance like it was raining. It’s just something you have to see with your own eyes!

There were some interactive rooms/displays as well but I can’t say those were better than my favorite one! It is definitely A MUST SEE place if it’s your first time in Tokyo, or just wanna go somewhere cool. And if you’re a social media junkie, you’ll be sure to leave with some bomb content/photos!

See you guys in the next video! Don’t forget to LIKE & SUBSCRIBE!

Day 4 Of Japan! Osaka Castle and Last Day In Osaka :(

I finally got some free time to continue working on these! This was officially our last day in Osaka. Beautiful place that was laid back compared to when we went to Tokyo. It was a good thing though that we went to Osaka first instead of Tokyo, because I would’ve probably missed the Tokyo vibe to begin with! lol.

Like I said, Osaka felt like it was more laid back to me and the people there were “nicer” and just had a “homey” feel. If I was to go back to Japan again, I’d definitely go to Osaka first. Or maybe switch it up and go to Tokyo first, then to Osaka. Idk though, who know’s what the next Japan adventure will be.

But this last day, we went to visit the famous Osaka castle but didn’t make it to the top of the castle. We paid our fare to get into the castle, but once we saw the line to go up the elevator to the top, I wasn’t down for that lol. Plus we were on a time schedule to catch our bullet train to Tokyo so we couldn’t waste any time! It was a cool historic place to visit though. Now I can say I been to the famous Osaka Castle lol.

More videos from the Japan trip are sure to come. Keep a look out for those. In the mean time, enjoy this one!

Day 3 of Japan! Arashiyama Bamboo Grove & Daigoji Temple | Kyoto

What’s good guys! Day 3 finally done. I’ve been busy with other things, but was slowly finishing this video, little by little, everyday. The adventure for this day was to Kyoto again, but we woke up extra early to shoot at the Arashiyama Bamboo Grove. It’s sort of like a hike with a view point somewhere up top, but we didn’t make it in that far, as we had a schedule to keep during our stay in Japan.

We woke up super early to beat the crowds and so we wouldn’t have people in our shots. If we waited later to go, this spot would’ve been crowded! It was a nice, cool morning that day too which we enjoyed a lot. So peaceful and calm there.

Then we decided to check out Daigoji Temple. I never knew how far this place was from the train station, but we did majority walking and taking trains. We hardly took any taxi’s to save some money. My feet hurt so back from this day from all the walking lol. But Daigoji Temple covers huge ground from the base of a mountain to the top. There’s a museum and other smaller temples at the base, and as you make your way to the top, you’ll hit Bentendo Hall, which is one of the most photographed buildings there. It’s located next to a relaxing pond. Definitely something worth checking out.

To end the day, we just headed back to our hotel in Shinsaibashi and wanted to see what the night life was like in Dotonbori. I didn’t bring my camera for that because I just wanted to relax and enjoy the vacation for once lol.

Day 2 of Japan! Fushimi Inari-taisha & Kinkaku-ji

What’s up guys! I finally got around to finishing day 2 of the stuff we did while in Japan. We went to explore Kyoto for a bit and went to check out Fushimi Inari-taisha and Kinkaku-ji temple. In a nutshell, Fushimi Inari-taisha is where you’ll find the torii, or the bright orange traditional gates all lined up leading up a mountain. Kinkaku-ji is where you’ll find the golden pavilion, one of the famous tourist attractions in Kyoto.

Unfortunately, it was a gloomy and rainy morning which limited me to some of the shooting that I did. I didn’t want my camera and gear to get wet and damaged so I shot whatever I could when I had the chance. Plus if you’re planning to go anywhere that’s a tourist attraction, I’d suggest going early in the morning to avoid all the crowds if you’re looking to take some photos or video because once peak time hits, the crowds will just keep pouring in!

I’m glad we got to learn and physically see some history of Japan tho. It’s definitely some places to check out if you’re visiting Japan for the first time or if you’re looking for places/things to do.

Flight Out and Day 1 of Japan!!!

What’s up guys! This is officially the start of the Japan trip the girlfriend and I took in the beginning of October. In this video I showed our flight from Honolulu to Japan and what we ended up doing on our first official day there. I can’t tell you how much this video got me in my feels about Japan while I was creating it! Japan is just an amazing place! If you haven’t visited there yet, IT’S A MUST, or if you have already been there, then you already know why I’m in my feels lol.

Check out what we did and I can promise you that more videos from the trip are in the works and coming soon!  You can also peep the photos and read about the other things we did while in Japan.  There might not be too much photos this time, but that’s because I took a majority of video clips to sharpen my video skills even further.

I’ll also be moving travel content from the journal into it’s own section which will be labeled, “Travel”.  So look out for that!

Japan Day 11 (Our Last Official Day In Japan)

sphoto, sphotohi, sphotohawaii, japan, templeThis was our LAST DAY in Japan and it was a bittersweet feeling.  Mostly on the sad side because when you’re having a blast on a vacation, you want it to last as long as possible without it having to end.  But all good things must come to an end and this day was it.  We spent our last full day exploring and eating breakfast at Tsukiji Market, then went to check out the Sensoji Temple in Asakusa.  The rest of the day/night was last minute shopping and eating whatever food we could that we can’t experience back at home.  Japan was one the most awesome countries we ever visited in my opinion and we are definitely going back again one day.  Continue reading here or click on the photo above to see how our trip ended.

Japan Day 7

sphoto, sphotohi, sphotohawaii, japan, tokyo, odaiba, palette town, digital art museum

Today was a pretty fun day checking out the digital museum in Odaiba, although we had to check out of our rad hotel, Shinjuku Granbell Hotel, but after making it to Shibuya and checking into our hotel (although smaller than our recent hotel), there are hella places close by that make’s up for it lol. I would say it’s like a Waikiki of Japan but way bigger! We have a lot more shopping to do and a few more shooting to do as well, but it looks like the trip is coming to the dreadful end no one ever want’s to see (when they’re on a trip). Can’t wait to make these last few days count! I’ll get back to you guys tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!

Japan Day 6

sphoto, sphotohi, sphothawaii, japan, tokyo, disney, disney land, disneysea, disney seaToday was all about Tokyo Disneysea!  I didn’t bring my camera or my gear with me because I knew we were gonna go on rides and stand in lines most of the time so I prepared for all of that.  We used the girlfriend’s camera (canon g7x) because it’s smaller, more portable, and easier to run and gun for the day.  We were there from around 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.  Basically spent the whole day there until heading back to our hotel.
