Second place I wanna introduce you guys to, is “A fresh take on Italian food in the heart of Honolulu.” A hole in the wall in Kaimuki (right across the street from Kaimuki High School) called Mezzo Bar & Bistro! It’s a place to relax and unwind with ono, gourmet, Italian and local Hawaii fusion flavors which will definitely satisfy your appetite. I quote this from their website, “Between our whiskey, wine, beer list and delicious food, we are confident you will be coming back for more.” That ain’t a lie either because while I was there, I was grateful to even try these dishes I’m sharing with you guys and the hospitality there is top notch! I’ve already recommended this place to people to urge them to try it out!

QUICK Taegu Hand Rolls (Korean Food) | No Talk, Just Eat! | ASMR | Mukbang

What’s good everybody!

I’m back with another food video! Went to our local swap meet over the weekend and found the “Taegu Lady” there. This particular lady makes some bomb Taegu because she’s one of those old (well not old old but I would consider her old) Korean lady’s that seems like she been making traditional Korean food ever since she was a little girl. Many locals seem to know her and she also remembers her regulars when people flock to the swap meet. Now if you have no idea what a swap meet is, it’s basically a flea market. She makes sample hand rolls that she gives out for people to taste and that’s how I knew what I wanted to eat this night.

IF YOU KNOW WHO I’M TALKING ABOUT, LET ME KNOW IN THE COMMENTS BELOW!

I bought a bag of soft, HOT taegu from her (TAEGU is a popular korean side dish or food which means cod fish in korean) and went to my local Korean supermarket (Palama Market) to pick up Korean seaweed to keep it as authentic as possible lol.

Now you’re supposed to use sushi rice, but when I got home, I looked in the fridge and noticed I ran out of mirin, but had the other ingredients. So I skipped on the sushi rice and just made plain white rice and seasoned it with a little kikkoman shoyu (soy sauce), since the seaweed was already seasoned as well. I didn’t want it too salty or too extra.

Making it is super simple! If you’re using sushi rice, that’s probably the thing that’s gonna take up most of your time to make. But since I used plain white rice, I was able to wrap up 8 or 9 rolls. Now don’t quote me because I forgot how many rolls I made and it might be a different number in the video lol.

Japanese Chicken Curry

What’s up guys! I’ve been sitting on this for a while and finally decided to make the leap for this and start creating content about my foodie adventures. This is the start of many more food content that’s about to come in the near future. I’ll keep all the food videos in a designated playlist just for food purposes. I’ll still be posting my regular content on here but just know, it will be a mixture of basically everything I enjoy, which would be my regular work, traveling, and food! Now I’m no pro chef or anything. I just enjoy cooking (most people don’t know that about me) just as much as the next guy and I love watching other peoples videos when they cook or eat which gets me super hungry! I was craving Japanese curry and I wanted a (somewhat) healthy alternative to beef so I used boneless skinless chicken thighs instead. You can use whatever you want! That’s the fun about cooking your own dishes. IT’S YOUR COOKING, YOUR RECIPE, YOUR EVERYTHING. So experiment and find what you like and just go for it!

Flight Out To Japan

Dear journal,

I haven’t spoken to you in a while! This is the day we flew out to Japan. I didn’t expect the day to be loooooooooooong (or at least I thought it was long lol) because the girlfriend explained that it would be a “short” 8 – 9 hour flight. So I thought, “ok this is gonna be easy”, but NO! To me it felt long but maybe that’s because we had a lay over in Tokyo lol. Anyways it was worth it because this country is B, O, M, B, BOMB! Everything is so organized here and everyone is respectful, everything’s so tech-savvy, and it’s just a chill vibe all over. Even the food here doesn’t disappoint! One of my highlights of this night was my dinner because 711 is right down stairs from my hotel and I saw numerous videos on YouTube of people having feasts off of 711 food that they won’t serve anywhere else in the world (or at least I haven’t seen or experienced it yet)! This night, I ended the night with editing, and having dinner from 711 which consisted of salted rice onigiri and chicken skewers. They don’t joke around with their food here. It’s 100% legit! I was so satisfied with my dinner that I slept like a baby after. All I know is that I can’t go to a 711 back in Hawaii and grab “dinner” and say I was satisfied with what I ate lol.

UPDATED Journal Post: Bali Day 7

Damn how I hate the very last days of vacations. This marks our official last day here in Bali and it’s a bittersweet feeling. I’m kind of happy that vacation is over (I’m lying I mean who get’s happy when their vacation is coming to an end?) and looking forward to going back home to Hawaii.
